HP Labs India Indic Handwriting Datasets: License to Use

This dataset is the property of Hewlett-Packard Labs and is protected by applicable copyright laws.

The dataset is distributed to Authorised Users under the following conditions:

1. The dataset can only be used for research purpose. It can not be used for any commercial purposes whatsoever.
2. The Authorized User shall not publish, retransmit, redistribute, sell, commercially exploit or otherwise reproduce any or all of the dataset in any format to anyone.
3. All usage of the dataset should be appropriately acknowledged. In publications, the dataset should be referred to by the given name.
4. In reporting the recognition result on this dataset, the manner in which the dataset is used by Authorised User should be specified such that sets used for learning are identified as used for such learning purpose and sets used for evaluation are separately idenitifed as used for such evaluation purpose.
5. HP may terminate Authorised User’s license upon notice of failure to comply with any of these terms. Immediately upon termination, Authorised User shall destroy all copies of the dataset and use best endeavours to retrieve and destroy any copies of dataset wrongfully distributed by Authorised User.
6. Although reasonable efforts have gone into ensuring accuracy of the data and its annotation, HP Labs India makes no warranties or representations express or implied as to the accuracy or completeness of the dataset including warranty of non-infringement and implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Further, HP Labs India assumes no liability, obligation or responsibility for any errors or omissions in the dataset provided.
7. In no event will HP Labs India be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special and/or accidental damage of any sort whether arising in tort, contract or otherwise, caused by the use of this dataset even if HP has been informed of the possibility of such damages.
